Claude for business in Australia
Claude at work, with a policy, an owner and the data question answered.
Claude is Anthropic’s AI model. Businesses use it through the Team and Enterprise plans, where people draft, research and work inside connected tools like HubSpot, and through the API, which runs the AI inside custom systems. Most Australian teams of up to 150 people start on Team, with a pilot group and a one-page policy.
We build on Claude every day, for our own work and inside the systems we build for Australian clients, and we roll it out for teams who want it done properly. Below: which plan fits, what it costs, where your data goes, how to roll it out, and how it connects to HubSpot.
Last checked October 2026. Anthropic changes plans and prices, so check the Claude pricing page before you budget.
Which Claude plan does an Australian business need, and what does it cost?
For most businesses the choice is Team or Enterprise. The API is a separate thing: it is how a developer puts Claude inside a system, billed by usage.
| Team | Enterprise | API | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who it suits | Teams of 2 to 150 | Larger businesses, or anyone who needs the controls below | Systems that call Claude in code |
| Price | Standard seat US$20 a month billed annually, US$25 monthly (A$34 and A$43). Premium seat, with five times the usage, US$100 annually, US$125 monthly (A$170 and A$213) | US$20 a seat a month billed annually, plus usage at API rates | Per token, by model |
| Training on your content | Not by default | Not by default | Not by default |
| Single sign-on | Yes | Yes | Not applicable |
| SCIM, audit logs, custom retention | No | Yes | Not applicable |
| Connector controls | Admins control which connectors are allowed | The same, plus role-based permissions | You build the integration |
The deciding question: does your IT team provision every app through Entra ID or Okta, and does someone expect logs of who did what? If yes, Enterprise. If your ops lead adds new starters by hand, Team covers you. The full comparison is in rolling Claude out to a 100 person business.
Where does your data go when you use Claude?
It depends which door you use. Through Amazon Bedrock in the Sydney region, the request is processed on infrastructure in Australia. Through the Claude apps or the direct API, it is processed offshore, and Anthropic does not present the direct API as a regional residency option. Anthropic’s commercial plans do not train on your content by default.
Sending personal information to a model processed offshore is a cross-border disclosure under Australian Privacy Principle 8, so your privacy policy should say so. Anthropic sets out its own commitments in its commercial terms and privacy centre, and AWS lists which Bedrock models run in which region in its model and region reference.
When we build on Claude for a client, each tool gets a dedicated API key scoped to that client, no client’s data is used to train or fine-tune any model, and any working copy of records sits on a Neighbourhood server in Sydney. Our builds call Anthropic’s API directly, so requests are processed offshore. If you need processing in Australia, we build on Amazon Bedrock in Sydney instead. The detail is in where your CRM data goes when Claude reads it and the Australian answer on AI and your data.
How do you roll Claude out across a business?
Most businesses we talk to already use AI, just not on purpose. One described it as scattered: personal ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude accounts, with no agreed line on what data can go where. Another was close to banning Claude from sales documents because people were prompting badly and not checking what came back. Both are fixed by the same 30 days.
| When | What happens | Who owns it |
|---|---|---|
| Before week 1 | Pick the plan. Name one accountable owner. Write a one-page policy: what people can use Claude for, what they never paste in, who approves a connector. | The owner, usually the ops, RevOps or sales lead |
| Week 1 | Seats for a pilot group of about twelve, chosen by the work they do. Each person brings one weekly task they would happily never do again. | The owner |
| Week 2 | Connect one system, reading only. For most of our clients that is HubSpot. | A HubSpot Super Admin approves the connector |
| Weeks 3 and 4 | Training built from the pilot’s task list. Writing back to HubSpot only once reading has been checked. | The owner and the pilot group |
| Day 30 | Decide whether to expand, using numbers from your own business. | The owner |
Start from our one-page AI policy, then set up a Claude Project for your sales team. If you would rather run it with us, tell us about your team and we will scope it.
What happens when you connect Claude to HubSpot?
HubSpot’s connector for Claude works with every HubSpot plan and any paid Claude plan, once a Super Admin approves it. It reads almost every object in your portal, creates and updates a shorter list, and deletes nothing. It also skips your custom validation rules when it writes, which is the line worth reading twice: the rules that stop a deal being saved without an amount are not standing between Claude and your data.
That is why we switch it on read-first, and why the process your team follows has to be written where Claude can read it. More in the Claude HubSpot integration, what it does, the limits we set when we connected HubSpot to Claude and making Claude follow your HubSpot process every time.
What do we build on Claude?
Systems that do a job a team can name, running in production with a review step and a log of every run.
- Plungie: briefings written from its own HubSpot and sales data, for teams in Australia and the US. Sales gets a short brief on each buyer before the call.
- NHFA: a regular briefing on the business, written from a data warehouse we built and run for them.
- Flint: a fact-find that reads the documents a borrower uploads, fills the loan record and flags mismatches for a broker to check.
We use Claude ourselves too. Our engineers rebuilt this website with Claude Code, and we wrote up what happened when we gave our engineers Claude Code. For a custom build, see AI consulting in Australia and custom AI systems built on Claude.
Claude, Copilot or ChatGPT: how do you choose?
A construction business we spoke to this year had narrowed it to Microsoft Copilot, Claude Team and ChatGPT Business, and did not want to get stuck in analysis paralysis. That is the right instinct. Choose on three things rather than on a benchmark:
- Where your work lives. If everything runs through Microsoft 365, Copilot sits closest to it. If your customer records live in HubSpot, check which assistant connects to it, and what it can write.
- What your policy needs. SSO, audit logs, retention controls and where requests are processed. Compare the plan you would actually buy, not the free tier.
- What the pilot shows. Run the same weekly tasks through your shortlist for a fortnight and keep the one your people keep opening.
We build on Claude because it does the work we ask of it inside the systems our clients run, and we will tell you if a different tool fits your business better.

What people ask before rolling out Claude.
How much does Claude cost for a business in Australia?
Claude Team is US$20 a seat a month billed annually, or US$25 monthly, for a standard seat. On 25 September 2026 the pricing page showed Australian visitors A$34 and A$43, GST included. Premium seats cost five times as much. Enterprise is US$20 a seat a month plus usage at API rates.
Should we choose Claude Team or Enterprise?
Most businesses of up to 150 people start on Team, which includes SSO and admin control of connectors. Choose Enterprise if you need SCIM provisioning, audit logs, custom data retention or role-based permissions.
Does Claude train on our business data?
Not by default on Team, Enterprise or the API. Anthropic’s commercial plans do not train on your content by default, and Enterprise adds custom retention controls.
Is Claude data stored in Australia?
Only if you route it that way. Through Amazon Bedrock in the Sydney region, requests are processed in Australia. Through the Claude apps or the direct API they are processed offshore, which is a cross-border disclosure under Australian Privacy Principle 8.
Can Claude connect to HubSpot?
Yes. HubSpot’s connector works with every HubSpot plan and any paid Claude plan once a Super Admin approves it. It reads almost every object, writes to fewer, deletes nothing, and skips custom validation rules, so we switch it on read-first.
How long does it take to roll Claude out to a team?
About 30 days for a first decision: an owner and a one-page policy before week one, a pilot group of about twelve in week one, one system connected read-only in week two, training in weeks three and four, then expand on your own numbers.
What do you build on Claude?
Systems that do a named job in production: briefings written from a client’s own HubSpot and sales data, a business briefing read from a warehouse we run, and a fact-find that reads borrower documents for a broker to check. Each has a review step and a log of every run.
