Harry’s originally from the UK, where he spent seven years as a self-confessed ‘ski-bum,’ chasing the best powder across various resorts. He’s been living the Aussie life since 2021, and while he’s traded the snow for the sunshine, his priorities remain very clear: gin, hiking, and a deep, spiritual appreciation for anything that involves good meat sandwiched between carbs. Whether it’s a pastry, pie, burger, or a solid sandwich, if it’s wrapped in gluten, Harry’s in. He brings that same "make every inch count" energy to his work at the ’Hood, just with fewer thermal layers.

Geordie’s one of our Senior Digital Strategists at the ’Hood, spending his days helping clients hit their goals (and keeping everyone steady when things get hectic). In his free time, he’s properly in his element behind the decks as a DJ, usually somewhere between good-quality house music and a cold XXXX Gold. You’ll likely catch him spinning tracks at Sixes & Sevens or even at the State of Origin at Suncorp. He’s also known around the ’Hood for having a wedding almost every weekend, which is honestly ideal when you’re a DJ and love a dance floor anyway.

Barna’s basically the reason the ’Hood runs like it does. Fresh out of post-COVID Flight Centre, she brought 12 years of ticketing and operations experience from FCTG, plus the kind of customer experience and leadership chops you only get from being in the thick of it. She handles everything from day-to-day ops and contracting to client liaison and keeping us pointed in the right direction when things get busy, so yes, we’d genuinely be a bit cooked without her. Also, in a move that’s both iconic and confusing, she eats the exact same breakfast every day and is still surprised by how good it is every single time.

Jayden’s a former video game news site founder, and proof that life really does come with side quests. He’s travelled Japan extensively, played soccer for almost 25 years, and holds a Diploma of Financial Planning, despite openly admitting to the occasional money mishap. He also had to relearn how to use his hand after a gnarly machine accident, which is a pretty strong indicator he’s not the type to stay down. Smart, capable, and always up for the next adventure.

Sophie’s got a few years of solid HubSpot and digital marketing experience, plus a degree in creative and professional writing, so she’s equal parts strategic and sharp with words. Also, she’s the closest one to the office and still almost always the last to arrive, which honestly makes her commute feel like a mystery we may never solve.

Chloe’s a bit of a cultural hybrid - raised by British parents in France, she’s fully bilingual and brings that European sensibility to everything she does. She started out in fashion design before realising her real obsession was social media, which is how she ended up at the ’Hood. When she isn’t busy building out our content, she’s usually creating her own fashion content on TikTok. And if you ever meet her in person, don’t expect a rainbow; she’s known for a signature look that is almost exclusively all black. It’s not a phase, it’s a lifestyle.

Aikks is basically powered by adrenaline and curiosity. If it involves cliff-jumping, cave crawling, or a water sport that sends you airborne, she’s already in. She's got a bottomless battery, which explains the volunteering, voiceovers, hair experiments, weird-and-wonderful food missions, and random Nat Geo deep dives at 2am. She’s got two dogs, Toshi and Miyu, who fully keep up. Her taste is equal parts classic and chaotic: Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra on one hand, then psychological thrillers and mind-bending anime on the other. Add spontaneous trips and an excellent coffee, and you’ve got her whole personality in one sentence.

Cassy is a snowboarder at heart, which is a bold personality choice for someone living in Brisbane. To compensate for the lack of local powder, she gets her fix on an electric skateboard - usually with her 6-year-old Samoyed, Baymax, in tow. She’s also got a bit of a "troublemaker" past; she was once sent to Europe for six weeks to stay with her aunt as a ‘punishment’ (which, let’s be honest, sounds more like a result). Oh, and if she looks familiar, it might be because you caught her on Married at First Sight as a guest, though, so she managed to skip the drama.

Micah’s Welsh-born, Aussie-based (20+ years), so the accent’s legit and the sporting loyalties are… negotiable. He’s a gym regular and a full-time sport tragic, especially for cricket and rugby, but he’ll watch (or have a crack at) basically anything. He’s strict with the diet for training, then proudly nominates fish fingers, chips and baked beans as his “death row” meal. Balance. He’s also done MMA and fought at Sydney’s Luna Park in front of 2,000 people. Off the mat, he’s into pub lunches, karaoke, a rum Old Fashioned, and mostly just being with his kids, Piper and Sterling.

Matt didn’t realise his middle name is spelled “Jon” (not “John”) until his teens, which is the most on-brand origin story for someone with chaotic-good energy. He DJ’d for 10 years, drummed for 7, lived a year in the Canadian mountains for the snowboarding life, and can spin on his head like a breakdancer (thanks to “a few beers” and questionable curiosity). When he’s not being an unnecessary party trick, he’s deep in the science of sales -conversion rates, win rates, pipeline velocity, because sales + systems is his happy place.

Cess is the only person we know who managed to land a pet food brand deal during the pandemic without actually owning a pet - a byproduct of an animal IG page that went a bit too viral. When she isn’t deep in a cat video rabbit hole or campaigning for Jollibee Chicken Joy to be named a national treasure, she’s usually curating a playlist with the intensity of a high-stakes DJ. She also spent 2022 teaching English to Korean students, and the fact they’re still mutuals on the 'gram today is a pretty good indicator of her vibe.

  • Big businesses aren't good at humanising their marketing communications. It was a realisation that came quickly to Trav, a man with a solid background in sales and who had previously owned a creative agency.
  • How could such successful companies be doing such a garbage job of treating their customers like actual people?!

Taking customer engagement seriously

  • Setting out with a laptop, a phone and the skills learnt from years as a salesman, Trav wanted to encourage businesses to look at customer engagement seriously, to stop just following the herd and start communicating naturally. In short, to be real. 

Neighbourhood continues to grow year on year

  • It has proved to an inspiration sorely needed, as Neighbourhood continues to grow year on year. By focusing on professional development internally and continuous development for our clients, Neighbourhood is personalising, automating and helping more brands than ever before. Neighbourhood is here to help brands solve their customers problems, not sell to them.

4 years later Neighbourhood is born

  • 4 years later, after working with over 134 different clients, Trav decided it was time to fully commit; to refocus his own business on the same goal he’d helped so many other brands achieve. Neighbourhood was born as a force to inspire deeper, more meaningful communication between brands and their people, wherever they may be.
